The Japan JIS C8303 (Male) is a 2 pins ungrounded plug rated up to 125V and 15A. The plug looks the same as the NEMA 1-15P but the dimensional tolerances are more strict for the Japan plug. This is the reason why American plug may not fit into an outlet for Japan. We manufactured plugs with PSE approvals by using typical cordage (VCTF/VCTFK/NNFF jacket material). VCTF has a round shape and is rated to 60C. HVCTF has a round shape and is rated to 75C. VCTFK has an oval shape and is rated 60C. Available with IEC60320 C7 and open-ended variations.
The IEC 60320 C7 (Female) is a 2 pins ungrounded connector rated up to 125V and 7A in Japan. The C7 mates with a C8 inlet and is commonly used for laptop power supplies, video game consoles, televisions, and other double-insulated small appliances. This connector is sometimes referred to as a (Figure-8) or (Shotgun) connector due to its shape. Although it is not documented in the IEC 60320 standard. The C7P (C7 Polarized) has one square side and one circular side so the connector only mates with the inlet using the correct pin configuration.
